I got a chance to test out a Sigma 150-500 OS lens, and thought I'd share a few crops at 100 %

There are all straight from the camera no work has been peformed.

And here are some resized shots of the full frame versions.

These were just casual snaps after the wedding, as we sat down to eat, but they do look yummy. It was really good food, if you want a chance from the Radisson!

Until the weekend, you move date if things are running smoothly and wedding shoot for me. It's going to be a LONG day. I have 6 packs of Eneloops charged for the flashes ( I have a 60 person indoor group shoot so going to be using brollies and flash for that I suspect). Got 4 charged nikon batteries. Got 44GB of CF cards, and started cleaning all the lenses, did sensor cleans last weekend. So its all starting to happen.

The side trips we picked ourselves, but were had 2 A4 sheets of suggested places.

Some of the research was then using Flickr and google images to check out the locations and their photographic potential. And then work out which ones could be done together.. kinda failed a little at doing that bit efficiently. But partly thats the different airlines faults too as there flights are all a big nuts so it involves a fair bit of hopping about.

August 7 is when I'm shooting a wedding at Uni of Sydney otherwise I'd volunteer to help with the moving (as its always a bitch).

Don't know if I mentioend it but we've been considering a place, that in the last 6 weeks has dropped 50k, but we aren't really sure if now is the time.

I'm getting de ja vu so maybe I did type this already ?

When I'm a little less busy I'll transcribe some of the iternary across

I'll post some photos of the new place to my blog when the renovations are finished. I have the "before" photos, but I'll post them when I have the after photos too.

We were hoping that the renovations would be pretty much finished by now, but some of the work was shoddy and tradesmen have to go back over the next couple of days and redo some work.

We are moving in on August 7. We haven't started packing yet, but we have been doing lots of sorting and driving to the tip with rubbish and junk. It's making us extremely busy and tired. I'll be glad when it's over.

I look forward to learning more about your trip. Was it a package then? Or did you pick the places yourself? Some of those places I hadn't heard of.

A new place awesome that sounds almost as exciting, we are stalking a place but given the $$$ for th Antarctica trip we aren't overly keen to jump in boots and all!

I'll post some full details about the trip and the other places I'm going shortly. I have some itnerary stuff I can share.

I'm travelling with another photographer, and Katie is staying at home for this one. I'm working on my warm clothes, have some water proof stuff as well.

Do you have any photos of the new place or a link online ??

Make sure you get plenty of photos! I didn't need to say that, I know you will.

You are going to have an experience of a lifetime, no wonder you are excited. What are you going to do at Antarctica? Do you just see it from the boat? Do you get off and go somewhere? Where abouts in Antarctica are you going? That'll be an incredible experience, don't forget your jumper!

Who else is going with you? Is Katie going? You said "I" not "We". I'm looking forward to hearing more details about this trip.

Gen and I were wanting to go away again at the end of this year, but I think it's out the window now. We've bought a unit here in Mosman, and are currently doing renovations to make it all look brand new. In two weeks we'll go through the hassle of moving, but at least we don't have to move for a long time, and no more of those inspections from the real estate agent.

Maybe we'll manage a tour of Tasmania though, neither of us have been there, it's on our list of places to visit, and it's good for photography.

I thought I'd share with those that still frequent this establishment my exciting travel plans for November this year.

I'll be flying to South America, with a few side tips to all up 9 flights.

So in Brief

Fly Sydney to BA, then BA to Calafate. Then sight seeing at 2 Glaciers over 2 days. Then fly to Ushaia (at the very bottom tip of South America).

Do some sightseeing in Teirra del Feugo National Park.

Then board a boat for 18 nights going South Georgia, Faulkland Island and Antarctica!!!! The main event so to speak.

Then fly from Ushuia back to Calafate, Calafate to Bariloche. Then do the lakes Crossing which look just gorgeous (check out chilean lakes).

Then fly from Purto Montt to Santiago, then to Buenos Aires, then BA to Sydney.

While I booked this a long while back, I've only just paided the full desposit due to possible work contrainsts it was a maybe/possibility not a definite. But not its booked, I thought I'd share as I'm getting pretty excited!

Looks great, and I don't see a problem with using P&S cameras for video. They only need 2-3mp resolution images for HD video, so stills from a good P&S camera sized down to this resolution should look good.
